Does anybody have some experience with replacing a battery in a Suunto dive computer?
Can you do it yourself and/or to which diveshop would you go to get it in done (and which one to skip)
It took me two dives to figure out that the battery is nearing his end. The symptoms are that it showed just the time and does not switch underwater to dive mode. Only today i saw the message popping up for a few seconds that the battery is almost empty. I probably missed that message during previous dive (Rathlin Island in October)

I think all the Suunts are user changeable.
if they are the main things is obviously the o-ring on the battery compartment to make sure its clean, not twisted or cut
Most dive computers will not enter dive mode if the battery is low

The battery is easy enough to change in the suunto just pull the computer out of its protective cover and twist the cover at the back to reveal the battery.
You can buy a battery in a jewellers for a few quid but its better to buy the suunto one for a few quid more as it comes with a replacement o-ring.
Most dive centres will sell these and they will fit it for you as it only takes a minute.
Better not to wait till the battery is completely dead before replacing it as a dived with a guy once who was at 25m before he realised his computer was dead.
And i flooded a computer a couple of years ago when i fitted the o-ring incorrectly but luckily it survived and is still working.

I made a few phone calls and flagship was the only one who could replace it on the fly this Saturday, so I went for them. I will test it out tomorrow in Greenore. (Bettystown , AD would have been able to do it as well but Mark was out diving for the weekend).

Today i had my first dive with the new battery. The computer went in diving mode when going into the water. Sofar so good. However, after the dive, i wanted to check the dive history but it did show todays or any dive i made. It only showed the max depth (41.8m), the longest dive (64minutes) and the total amount of hours (34 hours) i dived sofar with this computer.
I noticed that the time and date were back to factory default. Is that time/date was not set the reason that the computer did not log dives? Or is there something else wrong ?

According to the suunto manual all dive logs will be kept when the battery is changed so you may have a problem.
If in doubt contact suunto.
The manual is here.

Strange enough connecting the Suunto to my laptop / Dive manager, the dive showed up. The recorded dive depth [15m] was a bit deeper than expected ( 3 meters difference) because i checked the depth during the dive [12m]. Do I need to calibrate the computer ? (how?)
The dive computer is in dive mode during the dive but there is an option to show the dive history/memory. In this dive history/memory it only shows the totals and not dive information (like max depth, temperature, and the dive matrix) for each dive.
I guess i have to study the fine manual

Hi Tommsy,
Just read the fine manual and found out that there are 2 memory settings:
logbook (details about individual dives)
memory (totals)
Found back my old dives including last Sundays dive.
Everything is fine now , problem resolved, everybody involved, thanks for your support and advice
Cheers
